  • Accept your offer of admission by the date noted on your offer letter. This will require submitting the $400 matriculation fee by eCheck, check, or money order.
  • To confirm receipt of your matriculation fee, look for the word “acceptance” to be displayed in the Decision section of your Application Status Page.
  • Make a note of your Major and Student ID number. You will need this to create a VT Username (PID) and throughout the process of becoming a student at Virginia Tech.
  • Once this step is complete, create your Virginia Tech VT Username. Please note: Payment processing may take a few days. Up to 72 hours after you have paid your matriculation fee, you will be able to create a VT Username (which will become your email address) at On the site, enter “create VT Username” in the search to get started.
  • Complete the FAFSA by January 15 for priority consideration. More at

  • Complete your Housing and Dining Contract submission. Search for “housing” in OneCampus. Select “Housing and Dining Contract (StarRez)” from the dropdown and follow the instructions. (You must be logged in.)
  • Submit final official high school transcripts and final official college transcripts (if applicable). Check your email for the due date of your final transcript.
  • For information about AP, IB, and CLEP tests, visit, search for “transcripts.”
  • Submit your immunization forms. Search for “immunizations” in OneCampus. You should see, “Immunization Form” under tasks. Select that option to see more detailed instructions.
  • Keep checking your VT email for updates like room selection, orientation, tuition payments, and more!
  • Complete your June task list.
  • Attend your live orientation session if you registered for a June date.

  • Classes begin! Ongoing dates and deadlines:
  • An email will be sent for you to complete required online programs such as AlcoholEDU, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Sexual Assault Prevention.
  • Participate in Welcome Week activities.
