That I May Serve
In the spirit of Ut Prosim (That I May Serve),
VT Engage: The Center for Leadership & Service Learning collaborates with communities, students, and faculty to cultivate and maintain partnerships that benefit people and the world by developing service programs that focus on engaged learning and reflection.
Our motto—Ut Prosim—is what Virginia Tech was built around, so we take it seriously. And it means something unique to each person on campus. At VT Engage, the university’s service learning and community engagement center, Ut Prosim means working to inspire active citizens and strengthen communities.
VT Engage encourages students to develop a long-lasting relationship with service and your community. Our hope is to help you explore what Ut Prosim means to you, and empower you with the tools and knowledge to become change-making citizens in college and after graduation.
Any student is welcome to participate in VT Engage experiences. All you have to do is register for an upcoming trip!
- Alternative breaks & weekend trips are immersive experiences that challenge students by exploring service and social issues in-depth.
- The Campus Kitchen at Virginia Tech is a student-run initiative that collects surplus food from dining halls then delivers it to area agencies.
- International service trips in the Dominican Republic and Peru are powerful experiences that combine learning, service, and cultural immersion.
