Hokie Bird

What’s a Hokie, you ask? Short answer: “I am!” Long answer: There’s a story behind it.

Hokie Stone

After orange and maroon, your third favorite color will soon be “ Hokie Stone.” Virginia Tech operates its own quarry nearby to mine the popular limestone that appears on many buildings around campus, and no two stones are the same.

Tim Sands

Tim Sands is the university's 16th president. Follow him on Twitter and Instagram.

Cadets

Virginia Tech has had a Corps of Cadets since its founding in 1872 — it was not until 1964 that participation became completely voluntary. Because of the corps, Virginia Tech is one of the nation’s six senior military colleges and one of only two located within a major state university. There were 1,154 cadets in our corps last academic year, striving to develop as leaders and serve their communities, both in and out of the military.
