Diversity and Inclusion

Coming to college is a transition for all new students, but students who identify with underrepresented populations often wonder, “Is there anything at Virginia Tech for me?” The answer is a resounding yes!

The Virginia Tech student body is composed of an array of cultures, races, ethnicities, orientations, gender identities, worldviews, personal journeys, economic statuses, and religions, and there are a variety of student organizations on campus focused on diversity and inclusion. Cultural education programs are also offered, and students are encouraged to take academic courses that foster an understanding of cultural differences.

InclusiveVT is the institutional and individual commitment to Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) in the spirit of community, diversity, and excellence. It’s all the work and spirit behind efforts to enhance the climate of inclusivity to the Virginia Tech community and beyond.

We celebrate history and heritage months and honor graduates at cultural achievement ceremonies.

We even have entire departments dedicated to promoting inclusive learning, such as Cultural and Community Centers, Cranwell International Center, and Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).
